Defining personal vision

Recently I looked into some principles to help discover and define your personal vision by Mark Batterson based on his book wild goose chase. I thought I would share them.

1. BE YOURSELF – get a good hobby or do an activity outside of church, school, work or whatever to get a fresh outlook on things.
2. LEAVE A MARGIN – leave one night designated for time not for family or friends. Give a large amount of time for activity with friends and family instead of the opposite because you will get busy.
3. CHANGE THE ROUTINE – Change of pace + change of place = change of perspective. You need to realize that everything is an experiment.
4. PRAY, PRAY, PRAY – no substitute for prayer. It adds an element of adventure in your life
5. SET LIFE GOALS – most people don’t get what they want out of life because they don’t know what they want. One needs to use Batterson's 10 steps to setting life goals:
1. Start with prayer
2 check your motives
3 get ideas from others
4 think in categories
5 be specific
6 write down your goals
7 include others
8 celebrate along the way
9 think long
10 keep dreaming God-sized dreams

6. STAY HUNGRY, STAY FOOLISH
